This months Featured artist is simply one of the best detail vetorists I've ever seen. Mauricio Massami (he gets points for having a cool name too) has incredible patience which you can clearly see in his detailed vectors. This first piece I saw of his was a Daily Deviation, "Snowstorm In The City" is one selection that deserved the feature more than most. I start with this, and a few of his other incredible "landscape" style illustrations.

After seeing the amount of details put into one of his pieces, it inspired me to start a landscape of my own (to be posted at another time, lol) The point is, to me, great art inspires others to create, or think, or argue, or love, or any multitude of other emotions. I know how much time and effort goes into creating something with the photorealism and quality of his work. He captures a moment in time for a location that should be ordinary, yet is not because he also captures the emotion of that place and time in his representation. Thats not easy to do.

Mauricio also vectors vehicles. Although not the most popular genre on dA (if you have ever posted a car here, you know what I mean), he carries his level of detail and attention to the little things that make his vehicle vectors come to life. Use of gradient mesh and reflections are certainly among the best on dA. Its unfortunate that vehicle vectors don't get the attention they deserve, trust me, they are one of the hardest and time consuming subjects to recreate.

Portraits are also one of the hardest things to do, and he is also creating some fantastic images in this category as well. He has created many more pieces worthy of rcognition and feature, but I leave it to you to visit his gallery to see for yourself. Unbelievably, he has only 22,681 pageviews as of this journal, so he truly is undiscovered........the time has come for his work to be seen!

Go now, dear reader, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy your subscription Mauricio, you deserve it, and I really look forward to seeing more of your works.
